Servo-Flex®
Technology

The part stays put — even when the power is gone.

Servo-Flex combines a patented mechanical clamping system with fully servo-electric control. Flexible, safe, and engineered for the realities of the cell.

How it works

Engineered around four ideas.

Patented mechanical hold

Clamping force is locked by the mechanism itself, not by continuous power. On a power cut, the part stays gripped — no drop, no damage, no safety incident.

Fully servo-electric

No compressed air, no pneumatic lines on the arm. Precise, programmable electric control means repeatable grips and lower running cost.

Flexible by design

A single jaw configuration grips 6–120 mm. The geometry was engineered for range, so part families no longer each need their own tool.

Three force levels

Light, medium and max — up to 5 kN per jaw (≈ 500 kg). Protect delicate parts or hold heavy ones, switched in software.

Blue safety LEDs

Integrated blue LEDs mark the gripping zone, giving operators clear, immediate visual feedback in the cell.

High power-to-weight

At just 2–4 kg, Servo-Flex lifts up to 10× its own weight — returning robot payload to the part instead of the tool.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Servo-Flex hold a part without power?

The clamping force is held by a mechanical self-locking system rather than by continuous motor current or air pressure. Once closed, the mechanism keeps the jaws clamped, so a power loss cannot release the part.

Is Servo-Flex pneumatic or electric?

It is fully servo-electric. There are no air lines, no compressed-air supply and no pneumatic maintenance — only programmable electric control with three force levels.

How is one gripper able to handle 6 to 120 mm?

The jaw kinematics were engineered for a wide stroke, so a single jaw configuration covers the full range without manual changes or mechanical re-tooling.

How much force does Servo-Flex apply?

Up to 5 kN per jaw — about 500 kg — adjustable across three levels. This lets it grip parts up to 30 kg (Flexi 100) or 40 kg (Flexi 150) depending on overhang.
